Empire Dressage Saddles

The perfect balance of comfort and performance with Empire dressage saddles

At Empire Saddles, we understand that no two horses or riders are the same. Our collection of dressage saddles has been developed with a focus on comfort, quality, and the diverse needs of both horse and rider.

Our collection consists of four different dressage models, each developed on its own tree shape and featuring wool-flocked panels to suit various types of horses. Within each model, we offer different versions for the rider, with various knee rolls and sweat flaps. This allows you to work with an Empire saddle fitter to choose the combination that best suits you and your horse.

The correct fit of the saddle is essential for your horse’s comfort and freedom of movement. That is why we work with different tree shapes, suitable for a wide range of horse types. The right tree always forms the foundation for a well-fitting and comfortable dressage saddle.

Once the correct tree has been selected, we look at the panels. Our saddles are equipped with wool-flocked panels, with various panel options available depending on the model. This allows the tree and panels to be collectively tailored to the horse’s anatomy. Our Empire dealers will assist you in selecting the model and panels that best suit your horse.

Every rider has different preferences. That is why our dressage models have different seat depths and each offers its own unique feel. From a deeper seat with more support to a shallower seat that provides more freedom of movement. What our models have in common is the comfortable, soft seat that is characteristic of Empire.

Within the chosen model, you can then select from various versions. Our twinflap saddles have interchangeable knee rolls under the saddle flap, while our monoflap saddles have the knee roll positioned on the flap. Depending on the version, different knee rolls are available, and the position and length of the saddle flap can also be adjusted. This way, you and your Empire saddle fitter can choose the version that best fits your posture and preferences.

At Empire Saddles, we consciously choose wool-flocked panels. Wool can be adjusted by the saddle fitter and molds to the horse’s back during use. This allows the flocking to be fine-tuned whenever necessary.

Wool-flocked saddles do require regular maintenance. The flocking can change over time and must therefore be checked periodically and adjusted where necessary by a saddle fitter. This ensures the panels continue to fit the horse’s back correctly.

A saddle can only function properly if it is correctly matched to the horse. That is why all Empire saddles are equipped as standard with the TreeClix system, which allows the tree width to be precisely adjusted.

A horse’s body shape can change due to training, seasonal changes, age, or other factors. With TreeClix, the saddle fitter can adjust the tree width in 5 mm increments and test which setting fits best during a saddle check.

TreeClix makes these adjustments precise, symmetrical, and reversible, within the capabilities of the tree and the saddle. This provides the Empire saddle fitter with an additional way to correctly adjust the saddle even as the horse changes.

In addition to the correct fit and version, a saddle should, of course, also match your taste. Depending on the chosen version, there are various options for leather and finishing.

The Essentials versions are crafted in high-quality leather and can be given a personal touch with a patent leather facing. With the Exclusive versions, there are more possibilities to personalize your saddle. For example, choose from patent leather, Swarovski crystals, or a contrasting piping to give your saddle a unique look.

Together with your Empire saddle fitter, you choose the model, version, and finish that suit you and your horse.
