I came in contact with Empire Saddles and the TreeClix system a few years ago because I was struggling to find a well-fitting saddle for my horses. It brought much more than I ever expected and opened up a whole new dimension in the riding and movement of my horses. Recurring problems disappeared when my saddles supported biomechanically correct horse movements.

The saddles offer great comfort for both horse and rider. They allow me to sit freely and independently, but supported, which has contributed immensely to my sitting. Additionally, the TreeClix system has allowed my horses to positively develop their bodies, as it has been possible to adjust the saddle according to the changes in my horses over the years.

For the past five years I have been riding several horses on Empire saddles: William, Grace Jones, Habakuk and also my wonder mare Kenzie have been fitted with an Omani through Akash Saddlery. Of course with "TreeClix inside! Quite a few of my students now also ride an Empire saddle.

The Omani is not only a very nice saddle to look at, but gives me support where needed without being coercive. It has a deep seat, the monoflap gives a nice close contact feel, and the rockers leave my knees free, allowing me to ride with a long, relaxed leg.

Because of the cushions placed under the frame of the saddle with a wide saddle rail, my horses have a lot of freedom of movement in the topline. The built-in TreeClix system ensures optimal positioning and can be easily adjusted at every stage of training.

I have owned and tried many different saddles in my 40-year career; however, thanks to the unfailing service and care of Akash Saddlery and Jolanda van der Leeden, I am now very wedded to my Empire saddles! And - more importantly - so did my horses!

For a long time I was looking for a good saddle that was comfortable for myself but most importantly, that was comfortable for my horses. When I first sat down in the Empire saddle it immediately felt very good! You're really into it and in the process you feel a lot of contact with your horse.

I have some sensitive horses and they clearly indicate what they like. Since riding with the Empire saddle I notice so much difference! Much more looseness and relaxation on the back and no longer wanting to run away from the saddle. That to me does indicate that they like it much better now!
